Conservative MP for Suffolk Coastal and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at Defra, Dr Thérèse Coffey, visited the farm of the president of CA-UK, Mr Tony Reynolds.
During the visit, Dr Coffey could see firsthand the benefits of conservation agriculture (CA). She also was presented with a copy of ECAF’s (European Conservation Agriculture Federation) recent ‘Conservation Agriculture: Making Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption Real in Europe’report, which looks at how the agricultural sector can respond to climate change through CA. It is interesting to note that she could go to the field in the picture on the front cover of the report. So she saw the crop pictured ready for harvest.
Ms Coffey showed an active interest in CA and after the visit she said now she has considerably more knowledge of the subject than before.
