With great sadness we heard about the loss of Nonô (Manoel Henrique Pereira) one of the pioneers of Conservation Agriculture not only in Brazil and South America but also worldwide. Our friend and dedicated CA farmer, director honorary and founder of the Brazilian Federation of No-Tillage and Irrigation (FEBRAPDP) passed away yesterday (September 8th) in Ponta Grossa.

Needless to mention the endless work and efforts undertaken by Nonô Pereira and his fellow companions Herbert Bartz and Frank Dijkstra that contributed decisively to spread Conservation Agriculture (‘No-till into the straw’) throughout Brazil and South America. He also was a pillar for the consolidation of the Brazilian Federation of No-Tillage and Irrigation (FEBRAPDP). Through his example and devoted farming career, recognized internationally, he was serving as a missionary for CA and good soil management practices.

ECAF members extend their deepest sympathies to his family and friends, and also to FEBRAPDP.
